Celebrate!

Since Rick has to work late the night of Gabi's birthday next week we decided to celebrate it by going out to dinner last tonight. It was no surprise that Gabi wanted to eat at El Vaquero since it is our favorite restaurant and about the only nice place to eat in town. She always orders the cheese enchiladas and was looking forward to ordering the fried ice cream for dessert. She was so excited all afternoon and really wanted them to sing to her. We told the waiter we were celebrating her birthday and when they didn't come out to sing to her when they brought her dessert she was a little disappointed. Of course that didn't stop her from digging into her ice cream! It was only a few minutes later that a few waiters stopped by the table with their sombrero and brought the entire kitchen staff with them! They serenaded her with the traditional Las Mananitas. She thought it was the coolest thing and was all smiles! It was the best birthday dinner ever!
