Yesterday someone posted on one of the forums I frequent that it looked like "I was taking on the world!" Well, that sums up exactly how I felt yesterday! I have finally convinced Rick to go to counseling and he had his session last week. I got a chance to go yesterday and it was very therapeutic. The therapist is very much a free spirit like me and although I was very nervous going in I quickly felt right at home. I think she agreed that Rick is bordering on OCD and needs to re-prioritize his life. We will go together next Friday to meet with her and that will be interesting. Rick and I discussed this a bit before my appointment and I don't know if he will be open to her opinion and suggestions. He constantly tells me that I'm just lazy and the problem is mine not his. His parents have been warning him that he is missing out on life and Gabi growing up because of his obsession with work. He is going to work himself into an early grave. He should have had a wake up call this week! He was going non-stop a few days ago, got light-headed and his heart was racing. So in addition to therapy I had to then take Rick to see a heart specialist yesterday. The doctor said he did hear a leaky valve but didn't think the problem was too serious. Rick has to go back in next week to have an echo cardiogram. The doctor reminded him he isn't 20 anymore!
Then last night as I was out enjoying some fresh air Rick went running out to the field. He said we had a heifer in labor. Of course, I grabbed my camera and followed him. We lost a calf this spring so he once again was stressing himself out. He had the ropes ready and thought we'd have to help pull it out. He went to get some feed and while he left her in peace she finally settled in and started contracting. I convinced Rick to wait when he got back and out popped the calf! It was a pretty cool experience! I will spare you all the pictures because it was kind of gross too! So yes I'd have to say I took on the world yesterday! What a day!

sorry to hear all this is going on. I hope things get better. And how exciting to see a baby calf being born. We have these mourning doves that keep nesting right outside our back door and we lost one of the babies a few days ago. We don;t know what happened. But the other one survived and was gone this morning.
WOW! You have your hands full! I just wanted to say I am a teacher too and the daughter of a HS spanish teacher!
