Heartbreak

Yesterday morning Gabi had her Kindergarten screening. I cannot believe that my baby will be starting Kindergarten next year. I have seen how much she has learned this year from the few hours a week she attends preschool and I'm excited for her to make new friends, learn, and grow more in the coming year! I'm also a little worried though too. Gabi drew a beautiful picture of flowers last night that she colored, signed her name, and wrote I love you on. It broke her daddy's heart when she informed him that the picture wasn't for him. This picture she was going to give to Grant! She was extra careful this morning packing her backpack and made sure she didn't forget her picture. So of course I asked her if Grant liked his picture when I picked her up tonight. I was joking around with her but realized after talking to her a few minutes that she was hurt. She told him she had a picture for him but he didn't come to her backpack after school to get his picture and when she did give it to him he didn't say thank you! I asked her if it hurt her feelings and she admitted it did! Well, I'm sure we have many more heartbreaks ahead of us!
