Well, we had planned a trip to the zoo today but we knew as soon as we woke up and looked outside that it wasn't going to be. It is raining again! We headed back to bed and decided to sleep in! We finally got up and started cleaning house. Gabi has outgrown her adorable jungle room and has been wanting to paint it pink. I bought a new chair and comforter for her room yesterday and since the weather wasn't cooperating and I didn't have anything else to do I decided to start removing her wallpaper border in order to prep the room for a new coat of paint. Rick actually jumped in to help too and before I knew it we had emptied her room, removed the border, patched holes, and cleaned the windows! I will admit it was a little sad saying goodbye to her room. So much time and love went into picking out the theme for her room and decorating it. Of course I knew she would outgrow it eventually but I thought that her grass awning over the closet and palm tree would be items she could incorporate into a beach theme later and still have a girly room. What I hadn't counted on was the strong opinions and ideas of a 5 year old! She definitely knows what she wants and there is no convincing her of anything else. Well, it will be cute when it is all done! We will have to pick up the paint in the next day or so and finish it up!
